The most exclusive address on the Bukit, the Bvlgari Spa sits 150 metres above the Indian Ocean behind a famously private gate. Treatments are couture: Bvlgari signature rituals, the full Augustinus Bader facial menu, traditional Balinese massage and four-hands work, performed in stone treatment suites and curtained pavilions that open straight to the sea. A reflecting-pool relaxation pavilion, ocean-view jacuzzi suites and a Technogym fitness studio complete the sanctuary — a long ritual here is less a massage than a half-day retreat.

A fantastic spa at the Bulgari resort. We tried the traditional Balinese massage for 90 minutes — perfect relaxation, perfect pressure. I seldom fall asleep during a massage but I did on this occasion.
